Start with a real question, inspect every assumption and open the exact calculator state.
For this illustrative 85 W AC setup, a healthy 1,000 Wh station covers the eight-hour target under the stated assumptions. The important result is not simply “yes”: it is why the estimate reaches nine hours and which inputs could reverse the answer.
The ideal 10-hour division is a ceiling. Applying only an 85% AC-efficiency factor gives the common 8 hours 30 minutes; keeping an additional 10% reserve lowers this plan to 7 hours 39 minutes.
With an 80% panel-yield assumption and 90% charging efficiency, a 200 W array stores energy at 144 W. Replacing the full 1,000 Wh takes about 6 hours 57 minutes of equivalent full sun; a 20% to 80% window takes about 4 hours 10 minutes.

Build the vocabulary and measurement habits behind a reliable energy budget.
Watts describe a rate of energy transfer. Watt-hours describe an amount of energy. Runtime connects them, but only after both quantities are expressed at the same point in the power path.
A product can have enough capacity but insufficient output, or enough inverter output but too little usable energy. Read each rating as the answer to a different engineering question.
A single instant reading rarely represents an entire session. Measure the operating pattern you intend to power, preserve peaks as separate output checks and document the conditions behind every number.

Keep inverter output, usable battery energy and solar electrical compatibility separate.
Continuous watts describe a sustained operating requirement. Surge watts describe a short event whose duration and overlap matter. Neither number replaces the battery-energy calculation.
“Usable capacity” is often treated as one mysterious percentage. A better plan keeps physical availability, chosen reserve, conversion loss, station overhead and purchase margin as separate terms.
Matching watts is not enough. A safe, supported array must stay within the station’s voltage and current rules across expected conditions, use the correct connector and polarity, and respect permitted series or parallel wiring.
